Dear Madam L. Bennett,

My name is Isa Houten. I am 15 years old and I am a girl from Holland. At the English class I read an article about Mizz Hero/Heroine of the Year Award. I would like to sign up my friend, because she did something heroic. She saved a three-year-old neighbor out of the water.

She thinks it is not so special, but I think that she was so brave to jump into the deep cold water to save the boy. The people around the boy did not do anything. The biggest wish of my friend is to go to London. She heard that the city is great and that you can shop till you drop.

I hope you select her, because she deserves it. I send you a newspaper article with the story of my friend.

I look forward to your reply,
Isa Houten

Dear You,

I sat in the train and looked very tired around me. Then I saw you sitting there and you stared a little bit dreamy out of the window. Your reflection in the window made my heart quicken. Your beautiful clear blue eyes looked like the ocean. When you turned around to talk to your neighbour, we had eye contact for a brief moment.

But then the train stopped, you picked your back, stood up and walked out of the train. In the last second you looked at me and I thought OMG you are sooo hot but then you turned around and walk away. I followed you with my eyes when the train started to move again.

On the way home, at home and the days after this day I could only think about you. I hope I will see you again.

With best wishes,

Your mysterious lover

Dear manager of Tesco Express,

I am Isa Houten and I am disappointed in your staff running your shop. Three days ago I bought a can of brown beans. The expiration date of the can is 27 June 2018. Saturday 24 June I had some friends that came by to have diner with me. I thought I would make a delicious recipe with the beans. But when I opened the can at first it stunk and there was mustiness everywhere.

On Monday 26 June I went back to the Tesco Express with my can of brown beans to let them see and tell them the story. I thought maybe they can give me my money back or give me a new can of beans. But they did not. Do you have a solution about this problem?

I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely, Isa Houten

Dear Kim,

I visited your website and it was really great. It was very organized. It was easy to find all of the projects, because you have all the items of the different years grouped together. I like to read everything on your website. The projects are really interesting. You make great sentences. Because of this everything you write is easy to understand. I like the project about “The kings and queens of Britain”. It is very interesting and complete. When people have read this project they know everything about Elizabeth the second.

There are sometimes in your projects little spelling mistakes. But that was not disturbing. I like your website, it looks beautiful and organized. The information that you have and your website is really interesting and great. After reading your website. I feel a bit smarter. Well done.

Best Wishes,
Isa Houten

Dear Bryanne,

I was looking an your website and it is really beautiful. When I look at the home page of your website, it is really organized. You made some very nice projects. I like the way it looks , very clearly and nice. When I clicked on year 2, it was difficult to read because it was so close to each other.

You could not see very clearly when a new project started. I think that you can change that very quickly so everybody can read it easier. That is also with year 3. The information that you have is very interesting.

It is a very nice website, you can see that put a lot of effort in it. It is organized and I like to read every project on your website. You did it really great. Well done!

Best Wishes,
Isa Houten

The Birthday Problems

  1. If you adhere to the requirements of the birthday problem (no twins, no leap year, equal chance of any day of the year being a birthday), how many people do you need in a group so that there is a greater-than-average chance that at least two of them share the same birthday?

A   13

B   23

C   131

D   365

B

  1. A group of 10 people has _____ pairwise combinations, while a group of 15 has _____ combinations.

A    20, 30

B    33, 66

C    45, 105

D   100, 225

C

  1. Which of the following best describes the approach taken to solve the birthday problem in this video?

A             Starting at a probability of 100%, the number of matches that are determined is then discounted until the answer is slightly above 50.

B             As individuals are analysed, the days of the year on which their birthdays occur are removed until there are 182 days (slightly less than half a year) of the year remaining.

C             The probability of not sharing a birthday among group members is determined and then used to determine the probability of sharing a birthday via subtraction.

D             The problem is not really a problem. The correct answer is true for all common dates of all objects, and it is similar to a universal mathematical constant (such as pi).

C

  1. How many people would you need in a group to ensure a 99.9% probability of two of them sharing the same birthday?

A    50|
B    70
C    364
D    365

B

  1. The mathematical study of combinations of objects in groups is known as:

A    Probability
B    Statistics
C    Combinatorics
D    Number theorem

C

  1. The assumptions made for the birthday problem are allowing what us to answer it in the way that we did. How would the answer change if we changed the assumptions?

I don’t understand the question.

  1. The video ends with the statement “sometimes coincidences aren’t as coincidental as they seem.” Explain.

It’s not so coincidental how it looks like you can calculate it in a certain way.

  1. The solution to the birthday problem shown in the video is just one way to solve it. Research some other solutions, describe the approaches they take. How does the answer using those approaches compared to the answer in this lesson?

Sample calculations

Year 3. Project 4: Awesome Reading And Writing

Why can they not accept it?

A lot of people talk about the discussion concerning headscarfs. Some populations are Muslim and instructed to cover certain parts of their body. For example the headscarf to cover the head and a burkas to cover the rest of the body. But a lot of people do not accept it. But why? Why can they not accept the fact that some people like to wear or have to wear a headscarf.

A lot of people are against wearing headscarf and they have got their reasons. One reason is that they compare the headscarf with normal caps. They say that when you can not wear a normal cap, you can not wear a headscarf. And when people are allowed a headscarf even if the cap is forbidden, they find it unfair. Another reason is that wearing a headscarf can give the impression of oppression. Even when this is not the case, people still associate it with oppression.  The women are powerless because the men dominate over them. Also people think when a population group can express their faith by wearing a headscarf, other populations could want to express their faith in different ways which are not accepted. And that is not the intention.

I can understand that they think that way. It is because when there are a lot of different populations, a conflict can arise about their faith and their ways to express it. Another reason not accept the headscarf is because people think that a headscarf not essential to express your faith. They say that it is a cultural choice. It is of no importance, so people can take it off.

Some of the most important discussions are about wearing a headscarf at work. Muslims can wear their headscarf at home or in the shops. Most of the people find this normal. But when at work, other standards apply. For example if we look at people who work as a judge and expresses there faith by wearing a headscarf, people could think the judge is not impartial when a Muslim is involved in a case. The public could think his ruling is prejudiced and this could result in protests. A judge must be impartial, and also express this.

But there are also reasons that a speak for a more open mind to wearing headscarf. One of the reasons that people accept wearing headscarf is that the people respect the religion from the other populations. But when they respect the religion they also respect wearing headscarf. Another reason is that a lot of people say that humans are equal so the populations can express their faith and can wear a headscarf without being scared to come in a fight or in a conflict. When you have a ban on wearing of headscarf the you are discriminating the people who wear a headscarf. If you forbid wearing a headscarf for the Muslims than you must also forbid wearing a cross on your neck for the Christians or wearing a skullcap on your head for the Jews. The impact of introducing a ban on wearing headscarfs will create many problems. The biggest problem is to check all the people who may be wear a headscarf.

My opinion about the ban on wearing a headscarf is that I think that people can wear their headscarf because it is for their faith. I have respect for other religions. I think that when other populations forbid our faith we do not like that either. But I can understand that when a judge wear a headscarf and when a Muslim is involved in a case, that people think that it is prejudiced.

Year 3. Project 3: American And British Film

Short Report

These are my film: Inception, Catch Me If You can and the Departed. My theme is the actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Inception:

The first film I watched is about a man named Dominic Cobb. He is in the business of stealing ideas from people. He steals these ideas during the  time they sleep. He enters in the dream, and looks for the ideas. In the first part of the movie we see Dominic stranded on the beach. After a while you see that that he is in a dream. To get out of the dream he needs a shock. For this he is pushed in a bathtub. As he awakes it becomes clear that this was also a dream. So we look to a dream in a dream. The story follows Dominic has he tries to steel more ideas. At some point the movie is very difficult. Several dreams and realities are difficult to follow. The  film is 14/250 in the top 250 from all the film. I looked the film on the couch in front of the TV with my mom and dad. Also I looked the film with English subtitles.

Catch Me If You Can:

The second film is about a man named Frank Abagnele Junior. His parents were getting divorced. He got the choice to live with his mom or dad. He didn’t want to make that choice and he ran away. He was a man who faked checks. He could be everything that he wants to be, for example a pilot, a doctor or a lawyer. With these checks he played everybody, but they did not know that the checks were fake. But he can’t do anything without his checks. The film is 234/250 in the top 250 from all the films. I looked “Catch Me If You Can” on Netflix. At first the film was with Dutch subtitles but I changed it to English subtitles. I looked the film on the couch in front of the TV with my mom and my brother.

The Departed:

The last film is about a guy who works for the police. His name is Billy Costigan. He is a good person to do undercover work. He spies a bad group with the leader Frank. The bad group thinks that Billy works with them. But Billy tells what they are doing and going to do to the cops. Another cop named Colin Sullivan works with the police but he actually he works with the bad group. Colin works together with Frank. Billy and Colin knows that they after each other but they don’t know the identity from each other. The film is 43/250 in the top 250 from all the films. I looked the film on my computer in my bedroom. At first I searched on Netflix but the film was not available, so I looked on 123movies and there I found the film.

Discuss the movies you want to watch with your parents

I discussed the tree movies with my parents. “Inception” was a difficult movie so I asked my dad to watch with my. During the movie I asked a lot about what was happening. My dad has watched the movie several times. So he could explain what was happening. The movie is for 12 year or older. “Catch Me If You Can” is for 12 year or older so I could watch it. It was a not difficult movie. “The departed” is for 16 year or older. I asked my parents if I could watch the movie and they said that is not a problem. Both of my parents did not see the movie. So after the movie I told them what the movie was about.

Script for a vlog

Hello everybody. I am going to tell you about the tree movies that I have chosen. The tree movies are: Inception, Catch Me If You Can and The Departed. The actor that I chose is Leonardo DiCaprio.

I start to tell you about Inception.

This movie is a since- fiction movie. It tells the story of a young man who is stranded on the beach. This man, Dominic Cobb is brought to a house  and questioned by an old man. Dominic suggest to the man that he can steal ideas from people. This by entering the dreams. Dominic tries to steal a document but gets in to trouble. In a rapid series of events it becomes clear that this is a dream. Dominic is brought back to reality by a friend who pushes him in a bathtub. This is to get out of the dream by a shock. The end result was that Dominic read the secret in the dream and he had stole the idea. Later he meets a girl with the same capabilities. She becomes an architect of dream worlds. The two work together. After some practice they create a new world in which they tried to steal ideas from a client. Now the movie becomes quite difficult as the main characters are in 3 dreams. (Dream in a dream in a dream). It’s hard to tell, but in the end Dominic succeeds in his plan, and all went well.

The next movie I watched was “Catch Me If You Can”.

This true story is about a young man named Frank Abagnele Junior who lives with his parents. The family did not have  much money . His dad was unemployed. His father pretended he had money but that wasn’t true. He borrowed a Suit and tried to get a loan from the bank. This was not successful. His mother didn’t like it. She applied for a divorce. Frank  got the choice to live with his mom or his dad. He didn’t want to make that choice and he ran away. But

He had no money so he made fake checks from an airline company (Pan Am). With these checks he got money to live. Based on the succes he made more checks and started to pretend he was a pilot.  At a certain point he was discovered by the police and  run away. After this, he disappears for a year. The cops still tries to track him.

After being a pilot he now tries to get money by pretending to be a doctor.  After a couple of years the policeman find him. Franks surrenders to the police and is held was prison for 2 years. During the time in prison he is often asked by Carl to look at fake checks. In the end of the movie Frank is working for the FBI and catches a lot of forgers.

The laste film is The Departed

The last film is about a guy who works for the police. His name is Billy Costigan. He is a good person to do undercover work. He spies a bad group with the leader Frank. The bad group thinks that Billy works with them. Billy goes to the cops and tells them what the bad group are doing and going to do. Another cop named Colin Sullivan works with the police, but actually he works with the bad group. Colin works together with Frank. Billy and Colin know that they are after each other, but they don’t know the identity from each other. The story ends badly, because everybody died.

If you compare the three movies you can see that the movies are really different. Catch Me If You Can is set in the past, Inception is set in the future  and The Departed set in the present. Another different is the theme.  Fraud, drugdealers and secrets in dreams.

I think that a similarity in these movies is “to fool the other”, because in Catch Me If You Can Frank fools the banks with his fake checks. In The Departed Colin and Billy fool everyone. In Inception are the dreams not real because they are make up.

This was nu volg about the three films with Leonarda DiCaprio, I hope you liked it.

Year 3. Project 2: Something Novel Diary

Day 1 Monday the 24th of October

Today we got a new project; Something Novel. We got a book that we have to read in a little amount of time. The title of the book is ‘Brave New World ‘ written by Aldous Huxley. We need to do a presentation about a particular topic of this book. The presentation needs to be at least 2 minutes. We got an explanation about the project how to do it right. Also today I started with reading the book ‘ Brave New World ‘. At the beginning I  read the introduction. But later I heard that you didn’t need to read it. So I started with chapter 1 ‘ The Centre ‘ I read until page 5. At the start I had no idea were the book was all about. I found it really difficult to read the book in English. But I tried and sometimes I recognized some words. And so I understood something about the book.

Day 2 Tuesday the 25th of October

Today  I went to do some grammar in the green grammar book. We always had a blue grammar book but the green book is more difficult than the blue book. First I had no idea which grammar exercises I need to do, but than I looked at Magister and saw all the grammar exercises. So I could work. I choose to do grammar exercise 45 in the green book. The exercise was “a or an “. Later I chose  to do my exercises in the blue book because I found it difficult in the green book. In the blue book I made the exercise 84 and the exercise 40. Later I saw that we did not had to do the exercise 84 but I learn a lot of it. On the website english-4u did I also made some exercises (http://www.english-4u.de/). Today I learned a lot about all the grammar. Today in the english lesson I had no time to read in the book. But when I came home I read a lot pages in the book.

Day 3 Thursday the 27th of October

Today we came into the english lesson. We heard from Mrs. Stolk that we had to choose a subject for our presentation. First I had not idee which one I had to choose. So I came to Mrs. Stolk and asked her which subject I should use. She said that the subject ‘ Freud ‘ was good for me. I started searching right away. I looked on wikipedia for the first information about Freud. Because I had no idea who Freud was and what he did. I found out that Freud was a psychologist. When I knew something about Freud I continued with the exercises in the blue grammar book. I made Unit 40 and Unit 42. Later I decided to read Brave New World. I read not much because there was no more time. I read until page 7 and  than it was the beginning of a new chapter. I found it difficult to understand the story because it was the beginning of the book and I found it difficult to read in English. When I was home I read a lot pages in the book

Day 4 Monday the 31st of October

Today I started directly with research. I looked on Wikipedia, and found some things about his childhood and his family. I wrote a lot of information in my notebook what I thought was important. It was difficult to find information about Freud because there are not much websites about Freud. And when I thougth I had some information it was exactly the same information as on an other website. Later I had enough information about his history, childhood and family. So I started with the grammar exercises on my IPad. I went to the website English-4u and did some exercises. When I did not understand a sentence I asked Kim or Fenna if they knew the answer. This english lesson I did not read but when I was home I read a lot pages in the book.

Day 5 Wednesday the 2nd of November

Today it was the last day that we could read in our book Brave New World. I almost finished the book. I had to read 2 Chapters and than I was done. Most of the time I found it difficult to understand the book because  every time that a new chapter began, the writer talked about different things. I was really confused about that. This two chapters I read at home. Today I began with my presentation about Freud. With the information that I had I began to make a Prezi. It look like a PowerPoint. I started to chose some imporant words. Because when you do your presentation you see the words and than you know what to say. I made six chapters with all the information about Freud. I did this the whole lesson. At home I made my Prezi done.

Day 6 Thursday 3rd of November

Today we have to finish the book. Sometimes I did not understand it but I like the book a little bit because the relationship in the other world with the people are really different compared with the people in this world. They also made the childeren. Not how we do it,  but different. They called it embryo’s in a bottle. One more different thing is that they use the drugs ‘Soma’ for relaxed, think about nothing and they found it normal to take the drugs. In our world is that not so normal. Also this day I did some exercises in the green book. I did not make anymore exercises in the blue book because it  was difficult to do the right exercises.

Day 7 Monday the 7th of November

Today we had the first presentations about our subjects. Sundays I sent Mrs. Stolk an e-mail because I was too nervous to do my presentation the next day. I said in the letter that I was to nervous and also I said that I did not know what to say. So today I did not do my presentation. I was happy with that because I could practice at home. The presentations from my classmates were really nice. They had really nice information about their subjects.  Some people were forgotten their text but they picked it up really quickly. Also I saw that they were really nervous, I could understand that. The whole lesson we did the presentations.

Day 8 Wednesday the 9th of November

Today we had also presentations. This day I had to present. I was really nervous to do my presentation for my classmates. At home I practiced a lot. At the beginning I practiced on my own, but later I did it for my mom a few times. She said all the time that I knew it, but I still practiced. When I was asked to do my presentation I began to shake, but when I stood for the class it stopped. During my presentation I was forgotten my text but I picked it up and continued again. Just before my presentation my hands were really cold and when I was done they became warm. I was really happy when I was done with my presentation. After my presentation I listened to the other people who did their presentations. We did the whole lesson the presentations. Later I saw my mark and I was really happy with that. I had an 7.5.

Day 9 Thursday the 10th of November

Today we had to prepare ourselfs for the grammar test that was coming up in a few days. I found the grammar really difficult because everthing looks like the same. I found the grammar ‘Adjectives and Adverbs’ really difficult also the grammars ‘Present Simple, Past Simple and Present Perfect’. So with these grammars I practiced the most of the time on the website english-4u. Also I practiced with the vocabulary for this project because we had a vocabulary test on the 14th of November. At first I saw some words, they were really easy to learn. When I looked further there were some words exactly the same but with different meanings. These words were more difficult to learn. When I was home I printed the words and learned these.

Day 10 Monday the 14th of November

Today we had the vocabulary test, I learned for this test really much. I was a little bit nervous because I was afraid that I had forgotten all the words. When I got the test I was not nervous anymore. I made the test and some words I did not knew. The biggest part of the test went well. I had the feeling that it was a pretty good test. When everybody was done with the vocabulary test we had to do some practise for the grammar test. I went to the website english-4u and did the grammar Present Perfect, Past Simple and Adjectives and adverbs. because I found these grammars really difficult. At first I had everything wrong but when I looked on magister I saw the explanations for all of the grammars. So I looked for the Past Simpel or the Present Perfect and than is was a lot easier to make the exersices. And than the lesson was done.

The time of the song is 2 minutes and 39 seconds. The best song of Creedence Clearwater Revival is ‘’Have You Ever Seen The Rain’’ and a highpoint for both John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival. According to John Fogerty,. The song meaning changed for him over time. Introducing the song in 2012 at a show in Arizona, he said ‘’This song was originally written about a very sad thing that was going on in my life. But now this song reminds me of my little girl, Kelsy, when I sing this song (Have you ever seen the rain) I think about Kelsy and beautiful rainbows”.

My opinion: I chose this song because I like the rhythm of this song and I like the meaning of the song. I think that this song will be played in the future because it is a song that stays in your head when you have heard the song.

The song really tells about a tired traveler who stays a night in luxurious hotel. The hotel looks very peaceful, hospitable and nice. But later on it was a terrible place you never come out. A part of the song text is clearly indicating the atmosphere and the life style of  California. The titel ‘Hotel California’ refers to the many artists who moved to California around 1976 to  be part of all art movements.

Another brick in the wall: Pink Floyd 1979

‘’Another brick in the wall’’ is a protest song against rigid schooling in general and boarding schools in the UK in particular. The song has strong drums, a well-known bassline and distinctive guitar parts in the background. The song also features a choir of schoolchildren singing in the second verse. Producer Bob Ezrin had immediately recognized the hit potential of this song but it took some work behind the band’s back until part 2 took it is final form. It was Bob Ezrin’s idea to use a school choir for this song. Some of the singles were not well received. Some people thought that the children were going to do the same against the boarding schools. Rogar Waters wrote this song because he hated grammar in the past. In the song stood ‘’ We don’t need no education’’ its grammatically incorrect this is double negative and means ‘’ We need education’’. The song is published in 1979.

My opinion: I chose this song because my father is fan of Pink Floyd. So I heard it many times and other songs of Pink Floyd. I recognize this song. I think that this song will be played in the future because the videoclip is really attractive and the tune is very cool.

The Kink’s fans loved this song but were not the type of people who would like relate to a transvestite.

My opinion: I chose this song because I like the sound and the rhythm of the song. I recognize this on the radio. I think that this song will be played in the future because this song is really old but I like the melody of the song. Even I’m 14 years old.

When they want to play the song for the first time, they were very nervous, because the show was in North Ireland. But the crowd wanted to hear this song. Bono announces this song whit the words “It is not a protest song, but this is Sunday Bloody Sunday.

My opinion: I chose this song because I recognize this song on the radio and the cd of my dad. I thing that this song will be played in the future because its remains the people of the incidents in 1920 and 1972. U2 is a very populair band.

Smells like Teen Spirit: Nirvana 1991

This song  written by Kurt Cobain for the American Band Nirvana in 1991. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic worked with him. This song was the opening track of de cd Nevermind. Kathleen Hanna, she was the lead singer of the Band ‘’Bikini Kill’’, painted ‘Kurt smells like teen spirit’ on Cobain’s bedroom wall. So she gave him an idea.  Teen Spirit is a deodorant brand. Cobain didn’t know that Teen Spirit was a brand of deodorant market to young girls. When the song was a hit the sale of Teen Spirit shot up. The lyrics were mysterious for the listeners, because Cobain was difficult to understand, and his pronunciation was not clear. The music had many influences from punk rock. Guitar, bass and drums let us hear hard and quiet parts in the music. A music video was also made for this song. The Band is playing for a school concert and for them stands cheerleaders dancing.

My opinion: I chose this song because I heard a lot of song of the band. I like some song of this band. It had a very hard tune. I think that tis song will be played in the futures because Nirvana is a really populair band and had a really own style.

The characters are the band members. The video is lined with images of the real Red Hot Chili Peppers. At the end of the game, all band members are standing in the middle of the earth. They find cube’s and when they touch the cube’s, the graphic character’s chances into the real people. The song Californication is the most successfully song from the band. The time of the song is five minutes and 22 seconds.

My opinion: I chose this song because I recognized this song on the radio. I like the sound and the rhythm of this song. I think that this song will be played in the future because this song is really populair on the radio.

Migräneanfall

Epilepsy

What is Epilepsy?

Epilepsy is a disorder in the brains, which is temporary, all of a sudden and uncontrolled large groups of discharge of brain cells. There creates a sort of short-circuiting in the brains. You can see that a person has an epileptic attack. If these attacks are more common, then there is a case of epilepsy. Epilepsy has different manifestations. Because of the many differences is not always easy to recognize epilepsy. Epilepsy is at every age. Also it can happen with the babies. In most cases it starts around the age of twenty.

What happens when you have epileptic seizure?

If you have epilepsy you can get epileptic attack. You can fall to the ground during such a seizure. Also, your body can get many shocks. Your body makes strange movements. Here you must be very careful that the person does not bite his tongue. The jaws have so much power that it can occur that the tongue can be bitten off. The person can smell strange airing. The smell is stronger than ever. They can also be absent and unconscious.

What should you do if someone has a epilptic seizure?

If someone get epileptic attack, you do not go to the emergency room. The epileptic attack stops by themselves in a few minutes. It is important that you are supplied when someone has the epileptic attack. You cannot let that person alone, because the person can bump to all the things that stand in his way.

What can you do about it?

People with epilepsy have several ways to handle it. Some people have medications. They have to be careful that they take their medication at the appropriate time. For others, it helps to eat and drink sufficiently and regularly. It is important for people with epilepsy to sleep enough. Also it is better to let stand the alcohol.

Causes of Epilepsy?

Epilepsy can be hereditary. So a part of your family has epilepsy. There is a big change that you have it also. Also epilepsy can be caused by lack of oxygen. For example at birth. It can be caused by an inflammation in the brain tissue. Vascular disorders can also cause epilepsy. Through that there’s been a stroke or stroke. Alcohol can cause also epilepsy. Sometimes, a brain tumor (cancer) can also cause the epilepsy. You can get epilepsy when you breathe toxins chemicals. Some drugs that people take can also cause epilepsy.

Treatment

People with epilepsy can go to the doctors. They have for the people medication. The people can swallowing this medication. These people have sometimes or not anymore the epileptic attacks. So the medication works. But by some people it does not work. Therefore people have the ketogenic diet. That is a diet with little or no carbohydrates and protein. What is important in this recipe is that there are plenty of fats and vitamins. The ketogenic diet helps people against the attacks they get. Some people who follow the ketogenic diet have little or no more epileptic attacks. You can also go to the doctor to get a operation. The operation ensures that you can control the epilepsy attack. More and more people are going to do this. It can also go wrong, because the surgery is in the brains. You can become paralyzed or you get memory problems or you get difficulties with the language.

Charlie in the food hospital

Charlie was 4 years old and 18 months earlier the epilepsy has come out of the blue. He has three different types. The Drop attack: the muscles in his body have no reflex and causing him to fall. He also has Convulsion and Absence seizure: he becomes completely unresponsive. Charlie was many times in the hospital and sometimes on the intensive care. Doctors found it worrisome. Charlie wears a protective helmet for bumping his head. Charlie used medication, but still he has 20 times a day an attack. Now the food hospital want to try the ketogenic diet. A diet with high fat and protein. The food hospital will see of it works for him. They hope that Charlie gets less attacks.
